In November 2018, Makhado announced his first concert called "Cotton Fest", which he headlined on February 2, 2019.
He released a new song, "Buy It Out", on 15 September 2017.
In October 2017, he released the EP Stay Shining under his label Cotton Club Records and distributed by Sony Music Entertainment Africa. The EP featured the song "Stay Shining" featuring Cassper Nyovest, Professor, Major League Djz and producer Alie Keys. The follow-up single from the EP, "Murdah", features Davido and Gemini Major.
In 2016, he collaborated with the vodka brand, Russian Bear in making limited Russian Beer × Riky Rick liquor drinks. As for 2017, he was named the face of Vaseline in South Africa.
