Born in New York as Solomon Shapiro. Later relocated to Miami Beach, Florida and changed his name to Mickey Manners. Married and had two sons. During the early 1960s appeared in numerous TV shows such as Get Smart with Don Adams. Had small parts in a number of Jerry Lewis films.
In the summer of 1959, he stayed at the Commodore Hotel in Swan Lake, New York, in the Catskill Mountains. He was at the Commodore for most of the summer. In addition to his shows in the night club/casino, he would get other gigs around the mountains and sometimes play two or three a night.
